Read our Terms and Conditions Carefully before entering.
Terms and Conditions
Part A: General terms
1. About these terms
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply between you and Classy Competitions Ltd (“Classy Competitions”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the owner and operator of classycompetitions.co.uk (the “Website”).
1.2 By creating an account, using the Website or entering any Competition, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and any rules shown on the individual Competition page. If a Competition page conflicts with these Terms, the Competition page applies to that Competition.
1.3 “You” and “Entrant” mean any person using the Website or entering a Competition.
2. The Promoter
2.1 The promoter of every Competition is Classy Competitions Ltd, company number 17126704, registered office 1 Holly House, Mill Street, Uppermill, Oldham, England, OL3 6LZ. Email: [email protected].
2.2 Classy Competitions is a signatory to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators. Our Safer Play page explains the measures we have in place.
3. Nature of the Competitions
3.1 Our Competitions are prize draws. Every Competition can be entered either by buying an entry online or free of charge by post (see clause 10).
3.2 Prizes are awarded in accordance with the laws of chance. Paid and free entries have an equal chance of winning every prize.
3.3 Because a free entry route is available, our Competitions are not lotteries and do not require a licence under the Gambling Act 2005.
3.4 We run two types of Competition:
- Draw Competitions: one or more prizes won in a draw after the Competition closes (Part B, clause 15); and
- Instant Win Competitions: prizes won instantly when a winning entry number is allocated, always alongside an end draw (Part B, clause 16).
3.5 We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any brand or manufacturer featured as a prize, unless we say so.
4. Eligibility
4.1 Competitions are open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over.
4.2 Our directors, employees, contractors, agents, suppliers and anyone professionally connected with running a Competition, and their immediate family and household members, cannot enter.
4.3 We verify age and identity when accounts are created and before prizes are awarded. We may ask for proof of age, identity, address or ownership of a payment method at any time. If you do not provide it within 14 days, we may suspend your account and void your entries.
4.4 If we find an entrant is under 18, we will close the account, void all entries and refund all entry fees paid.
5. Your account
5.1 You must have an account to enter, whether online or by post. Creating an account is free.
5.2 You may hold one account only. Your details must be accurate, in your full legal name, and kept up to date.
5.3 If you open more than one account or use false details to get around entry limits, spend limits, a suspension or a self-exclusion, we may close all linked accounts and void the related entries.
5.4 You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
6. Safer play
6.1 Spend limits. You can set a personal spend limit on your account, which applies across all Competitions, including £0. You can set or change it at any time from your account. A lower limit takes effect immediately. A request to raise it takes effect after 24 hours.
6.2 Credit cards. We accept no more than £250 a month per Entrant by credit card, including credit card payments made through a third-party payment service. We do not accept credit card payments for Instant Win Competitions.
6.3 Take a break. You can pause your account for any period from 24 hours upwards, from your account or by emailing us. While paused or suspended you cannot enter any Competition and we will send you no marketing.
6.4 Close your account. You can close your account permanently at any time. Entries already made in open Competitions remain valid unless you ask us to refund them before the Competition closes.
6.5 Monitoring. We monitor account activity for signs of harm, such as frequently reaching spend limits, rapid changes in spending, or repeated changes of payment method. Where we see signs of harm, we may contact you, apply a lower limit, or suspend your account. Our decision is made with your wellbeing in mind.
6.6 Support. Taking part should be fun. If it stops being fun, or you are worried about money, free confidential help is available from Citizens Advice, National Debtline, the Money Advice Trust, Samaritans and Mind. Links are on our Safer Play page.
6.7 Responsible marketing. We do not target advertising at anyone under 18, and we never suggest that entering is a way to solve money problems or replace work.
7. Entering online
7.1 Each Competition page shows, before you buy: the prize and any cash alternative; the price per entry; the maximum number of entries; any limit per person; the opening and closing date and time; how the winner is chosen; the free postal entry route; and, for Instant Win Competitions, the number and value of instant prizes.
7.2 To enter online, log in, choose the number of entries, accept these Terms and complete payment before the Competition closes.
7.3 Your entry is valid once payment is confirmed. We will allocate your entry numbers and email you a confirmation. Your entry numbers are also shown in your account.
8. Entry limits
8.1 Where a Competition has a limit per person, it is shown on the Competition page and applies to paid and postal entries combined.
8.2 If you go over a limit, we will void the excess entries and refund any fees paid for them.
8.3 Automated, bulk or script-generated entries are not allowed.
9. Payments
9.1 Entry fees are payable at the price shown when you enter. Any multi-buy discount applies only at the time of purchase.
9.2 If a payment fails, is reversed, is charged back or is found to be unauthorised, the related entries are void.
9.3 We may refuse any payment method, subject to clause 6.2.
10. Free postal entry
10.1 You can enter every Competition free of charge by post. A postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning as a paid entry.
10.2 Send one entry per postcard, by first or second class post, to: Classy Competitions Ltd, Collingwood Buildings, 38 Collingwood Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1JF. We do not accept hand-delivered, courier or Special Delivery entries. Several postcards sent in one envelope count as one entry.
10.3 Each postcard must be handwritten and include:
- the name of the Competition;
- your full name, postal address, email address and telephone number, matching your account; and
- a statement that you accept these Terms.
10.4 Each valid postal entry receives one entry, allocated in the same way as a paid entry.
10.5 Your postcard must arrive before the Competition closes. Every Competition stays open for at least 3 days so there is time to enter by post. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
10.6 If a valid postcard arrives after a Competition has closed or sold out, we will enter it into the next Competition with a prize of the same value. If no such Competition opens within 28 days, we will enter it into the Competition opening in that period with the prize value closest to the original. We will email you to tell you which one.
10.7 Incomplete, illegible or non-compliant postcards are not valid. We will email you if your postcard is rejected, where we can identify your account.
11. Refunds and cancellation rights
11.1 Entries are non-refundable once confirmed, except where these Terms say otherwise or the law requires.
11.2 We will refund entry fees in full if: we cancel a Competition (clause 14); we void excess or duplicate entries that are not your fault; we find you were ineligible because of your age; or you close your account before a Competition closes and ask for a refund of entries in it.
11.3 We will not refund entries voided because of fraud or a breach of these Terms.
11.4 Each entry is for a leisure service on a specific date, so the statutory 14-day cancellation right does not apply, to the extent the law allows.
11.5 Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days.
12. Competition periods
12.1 Each Competition runs from its opening time until its closing time, or until all entries are sold, whichever comes first. All times are UK time.
12.2 We will not extend a closing date, delay a draw, reduce a prize or cancel a Competition because of low sales.
12.3 If all entries sell out early, the draw still takes place at the advertised time unless the Competition page says otherwise.
13. Draws and chances of winning
13.1 End draws are made by randomdraws.co.uk, an independent draw provider, unless the Competition page says the draw is made by our website's automated draw system, which uses the TrueNorth random number generator to produce provably fair results. Both methods select winners at random using a verifiable process. Draws made by randomdraws.co.uk are shown live on Facebook and the result certificate is published on our social media. Results of automated draws are published once the draw has taken place.
13.2 Your chance of winning depends on how many entries you hold and how many are sold. The maximum number of entries is shown on every Competition page, so the lowest possible odds are always clear. For example, one entry in a Competition with 1,000 maximum entries has at least a 1 in 1,000 chance.
13.3 If a technical fault interrupts a live draw, we will repeat it using the same entry list and publish both results.
14. Cancelling a Competition
14.1 We may cancel a Competition only if events outside our reasonable control make it impossible to run fairly or lawfully, for example a legal or regulatory change, a serious technical failure, or fraud affecting the entry list.
14.2 If we cancel a Competition, we will refund every paid entry in full and tell all Entrants by email. Postal Entrants will be entered into the next equivalent Competition.
Part B: Competition types
15. Draw Competitions
15.1 Draw Competitions include our weekly watch, bag and cash draws.
15.2 Entry numbers are allocated in order of valid entry. After the Competition closes, one winning entry number is drawn for each prize under clause 13.
15.3 The draw takes place at the date and time on the Competition page, normally Sunday at 8pm for watch draws.
16. Instant Win Competitions
16.1 An Instant Win Competition has a fixed number of instant prizes. Every Instant Win Competition also has an end draw prize. The Competition page lists every instant prize and its value.
16.2 How winning numbers are set. Before the Competition opens, the winning entry numbers for each instant prize are selected at random from the full range of entries and shown on the Competition page. Once set, they cannot be changed.
16.3 How entries are allocated. Every entry, paid or postal, is given an entry number chosen at random from the numbers not yet allocated. If that number is a winning number, you win that instant prize straight away and it is shown on screen and in your account.
16.4 Postal entries. Postal entries are allocated in the same random way, on the working day we process them. We email the entry number and any instant prize won.
16.5 Unsold winning numbers. Instant prizes are won only when their winning number is allocated. If a Competition closes before every entry is sold, instant prizes on unallocated numbers are not awarded. The end draw prize is always awarded, whatever the number of entries sold. When the Competition closes, we publish every winning number and whether it was won.
16.6 End draw. Every entry, including entries that won an instant prize, goes into the end draw under clause 13.
16.7 Cash instant prizes. Cash instant prizes are paid by bank transfer to an account in the winner’s name within 7 days of the win. For prizes over £500, payment follows successful verification under clause 17.
16.8 Payment. Instant Win Competitions cannot be paid for by credit card.
16.9 Instant Win Competitions will never make up the majority of the Competitions we have open at any time.
Part C: Winners and prizes
17. Contacting and verifying winners
17.1 We will contact winners by phone and email, using the details on their account, within 48 hours of the draw. Keeping your details up to date is your responsibility.
17.2 Before awarding a prize we may ask for photo ID, proof of address and proof that you own the payment method used. Please respond within 14 days of our first contact.
17.3 If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 14 days, fails verification or is found ineligible, we will draw a new winner from the same entry list in the same way and publish the result. We will not keep the prize for a future Competition.
18. Prizes and cash alternatives
18.1 Each prize is described on its Competition page. Descriptions and values are given in good faith; a stated value is the retail price or our fair estimate, not a guaranteed resale value.
18.2 Where the Competition page offers a cash alternative, the winner may choose the prize or the cash amount stated. The choice must be made within 14 days of verification.
18.3 Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged, except under clause 18.2.
18.4 If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control, we will provide a prize of equal or greater value, or the stated cash alternative, at the winner’s choice.
18.5 Any transferable manufacturer warranty passes to the winner. We give no further warranty unless the Competition page says so.
19. Prize delivery
19.1 We will deliver the prize within 28 days of successful verification, unless agreed otherwise with the winner.
19.2 Delivery is free by hand or by tracked and insured courier to a UK mainland address. Delivery elsewhere in the UK may be arranged at no extra cost or by collection.
19.3 The winner, or a representative they approve in writing carrying photo ID, must sign for the prize.
19.4 If delivery fails because of incorrect details or the winner’s absence, we may charge reasonable redelivery costs.
19.5 Ownership and risk pass to the winner on delivery or collection.
20. Winner publicity
20.1 We publish the first name and surname initial of every winner. The result certificate for each randomdraws.co.uk draw is published on our social media.
20.2 We would love to share winners’ photos, videos and stories, but taking part is optional. If you agree, we may use them in our promotions.
20.3 If you do not want any details published, tell us before the draw. We will still keep a record and may share it with the Advertising Standards Authority or another regulator if asked.
Part D: Other terms
21. Fraud and misuse
21.1 We may void entries, withhold a prize, and suspend or close accounts where we reasonably suspect fraud, false identity, multiple accounts, chargeback abuse, automated entries, interference with the Website or draw systems, or abusive behaviour towards our team or other Entrants.
21.2 We may share information with payment providers, fraud-prevention agencies, the police and regulators where appropriate.
22. Complaints
22.1 If you are unhappy, email [email protected] with your account email and a short description of the issue.
22.2 We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and give you a full response within 14 days.
22.3 If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to an independent dispute resolution service, which we will name in our final response, or contact DCMS at [email protected] about our compliance with the Code. You may also bring a claim in the courts (clause 28).
23. Website use and intellectual property
23.1 All Website content is owned by or licensed to us. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
23.2 You must not copy Website content for commercial use, interfere with the Website, upload malicious code or attempt unauthorised access.
23.3 We aim to keep the Website available but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for entries lost because of internet or postal failures outside our control.
24. Our liability
24.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
24.2 Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Our total liability to you in connection with a Competition is limited to the entry fees you paid for it, except for our obligation to award a prize you have won.
25. Your data
25.1 We use your personal data to run your account and Competitions, verify eligibility, deliver prizes, monitor safer play, prevent fraud and, where you agree, send marketing. Our Privacy Policy explains how.
25.2 We share data only with those who help us run the service, such as payment processors, our draw provider, couriers and professional advisers, or where the law requires.
26. Social media
Competitions are not sponsored, endorsed or run by Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or any other platform, and those platforms have no liability for them.
27. General
27.1 We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when published, but will not change the rules of a Competition you have already entered to your disadvantage.
27.2 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
27.3 No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
28. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of that country.
